Claude code doesn’t follow rules anymore

So, this happened recently with me while using Claude Code. I am working on a dev project using claude code to do the usual stuff. As guardrails, I have explicitly added instructions for disabling auto push of code commits and instructions for confirming before performing updates on remote. I was debugging a failed gitlab pipeline and Claude simply went on to apply the fix, commit and pushed to the branch. When confronted, it just acknowledged that yeah it just broke the rule even when the context was clearly available in memory. 😶‍🌫️
