1 killed, 1 injured in Stevenson Expressway crash

One person was killed and a second was injured in a crash along the Stevenson Expressway on Saturday morning, authorities said.

The collision was reported at around 4:30 a.m. in the southbound lanes at Wentworth Avenue near Chicago’s Armour Square neighborhood.

Police said one person was pronounced dead at the scene, while another was transported to the hospital with unspecified injuries.

All southbound traffic was diverted to I-94 as part of the interstate remained closed. State police said the lanes were shut down but had reopened at around 10 a.m.
