Solo Writer Jon Kasdan’s New Project Is a Supernatural YA Rom-Com for Netflix

What happens when you borrow one name from Sid & Nancy and another name from Franny & Zooey? Really, you just have two names—but you also have Sid & Zoey, a new show coming to Netflix from creator Jon Kasdan. According to Netflix:

The show has been ordered straight to series, which means its arrival is nigh inevitable. It’s created by Kasdan, who is possibly best known for co-writing Solo with his father, Lawrence Kasdan (who more famously co-wrote The Empire Strikes Back). The young Kasdan also wrote several episodes of Dawson’s Creek and a movie called In the Land of Women, and created the short-lived Willow series.

Jon Kasdan will write, showrun, and executive produce Sid & Zoey with John Shiban, an experienced TV producer and writer who has worked on shows ranging from The Vampire Diaries to Dune: Prophecy to Ozark to Torchwood. There are also quite a few recognizable names among the additional executive producers: J.J. Abrams and Rachel Rusch Rich for Bad Robot and Jason Blum, James Wan, and Rob Hackett for Blumhouse Atomic Monster.

No casting or production timeline has been announced for Sid & Zoey.[end-mark]
