Support needed for a build with profiling features

A bit of an older topic but ran into missing defines for _mcount in binutils build, disabling gprofing during configure “fixes” the undefined reference.

Searching the net I ran into this topic. Maybe someone with the right knowlidge could step in on the PR to update binutils to the latest release now this is spotted?
