I'm so puzzled. What am I doing wrong? Negative experience

I posted a question here: How to bind an entire control instead of individual properties in WPF?

The community was helpful enough to try and help me. I eventually was able to get the answer I was looking for by the help of a comment. I even asked the person that got me the push I needed to find the answer to post an answer of their own, or even just copy my answer so I could delete my answer and accept theirs.

Instead, they edited my answer to remove the reference that they helped me, and now my answer is being downvoted. People tell me I'm not following industry standards and my comments explaining why I do the things I do are being removed.

I don't understand. I have a problem, I look for the solution, I find one, but people are like: no, that's not how it is supposed to be, and now every explanation, action etc, results in downvotes and removal of comments?
