224xl problem although diagnostics says "no problem"

hi, yesterday i recieved a beautiful lexicon 224xl which i plan to use thru my 480L/LARC. unfortunatly there seems to be a problem. when i connected it there was a pretty high noise coming out of it, when i disconnected the input and resetted it it was gone. i cleaned the contacts on the cards, moved all cards, moved the ICs on them - nothing. took it to my tech - who doesnt have a card extender and therefore could only do a few things like checking voltage levels etc: all good. i also...
