The modern workplace and errors in books?

Have you noticed more errors in books? I was reading an anthology of classic stories and there were signs that Optical Character Recognition had been used and then not properly checked afterwards - for example corners typeset as ‘comers’, along with maybe at least 6-7 other typeset errors or typos I counted. It was published by a big 5 publisher and surprised me as I thought that if anybody had the resources to take pride in accuracy, they would.
