Full Spectrum Magnetization?

So Spencer Walters has released a new 500 series "tape emulation" device claiming he can reproduce the full magnetic spectrum of audio and TAPE COMPRESSION...without using actual tape...

I am typically skeptical...but honestly don't have the electronic pedigree to know if its accurate or not...

I think the basic premise is that you can use a transformer instead of "tape heads>>>tape" to "write" magnetic flux to an audio signal...
