Multiverse Computing SL is raising $570 million in a funding round that is set to boost its valuation to $1.7 billion, as investors flock to companies aiming to make it cheaper to use artificial intelligence.

Forgepoint Capital International, BNPP Solar Impulse Venture Fund and Bullhound Capital are leading the ongoing Series C round, the company said in a statement on Monday. Bloomberg News earlier reported on the fundraise.

Multiverse Computing was founded in 2019 and aims to make the rollout of AI cheaper and more efficient for enterprises, shrinking large language models so they consume less energy and computing power. The Spanish government had already said it planned to take part in the round.

It’s one of a growing number of startups promising to cut the ongoing expense of using AI models, known as inference costs. Companies such as as model marketplace OpenRouter, developer platform Runpod and inference infrastructure platform Baseten have all raised large rounds this year, according to PitchBook analysis.

Multiverse’s technology for making the models more efficient, called CompactifAI, uses tensor networks. Tensor networks are a technique often used in quantum computing that selectively simplifies data to make large calculations easier. Its application in artificial intelligence makes models run more quickly and efficiently without sacrificing much accuracy, the company has said.

The round is expected to bring the company’s total funding to $800 million. The company had previously raised $215 million in June 2025.

Other investors include Banco Santander SA, Orange Ventures, Qatar Development Bank and the Basque government, among others. JPMorgan Chase & Co. and Banco Santander SA were the advisers to Multiverse.
