Why doesn't Meta acquire OpenAI / Anthropic?

Meta always fucks up internal development (VR, Metaverse) but they've been successful with their big acquisitions (WhatsApp, Instagram). Why doesn't Meta just make a bid to OpenAI / Anthorpic instead of trying to develop things in house?
