This book traces the history of the Centre régional d’art contemporain Midi-Pyrénées, which opened its doors in Labège on December 3, 1985. One of the first institutions established through France’s decentralization policy, it enjoyed a short but remarkable nine-year history, producing nearly 50 exhibitions and 70 publications. Its program showcased both emerging regional artists and leading international figures, including Dieter Roth, Joseph Beuys, and Sam Francis.

The book was designed by the graphic design duo Huz & Bosshard, who used Renotype ( Radim Peško, 205TF ) for the title and image captions, ITC Novarese ( Aldo Novarese, ITC ) for the main text, and Louize ( Matthieu Cortat, 205TF ) for the endnotes.
