Edge Drop Clipboard Manager Brings Mouse-Driven Copy Management to Windows 11

A new third-party clipboard manager for Windows 11 called Edge Drop is now available for early testing. Developed by AdiArtist, the app was recently shared on Reddit. It sits on the left side of the screen and can be opened by hovering the mouse over it or by pressing Alt+C.

Edge Drop supports text, images, and a variety of file types, automatically adding any copied item to its interface. The application can be downloaded from its website and GitHub. Currently, Edge Drop is in early development and is at version 0.1.0.

Edge Drop is a clipboard manager that also provides basic file management features. Its main characteristics include staying tucked away on the left side of the screen until activated by mouse hover or the Alt+C keyboard shortcut, supporting text, images, and various file types, and automatically adding copied items to the interface.

Users can drag items directly into the app or use drag-and-drop to move files into Edge Drop and paste them elsewhere. The app also offers a stacking feature for organizing related content, making it easy to gather several files for future use. Currently, it does not allow combining different content types, such as text and images, within a single stack.

Windows 11 includes a built-in clipboard history feature, accessed with Win+V. It supports pinning items, syncing across devices, and keyboard navigation. In contrast, Edge Drop focuses on mouse interaction.

Its drag-and-drop capability makes it straightforward to collect multiple files and place them into organized stacks, which can then be pasted into other locations. While the stacking feature is useful for keeping related items together, it does not yet support mixing different content types in one stack.
