Help on breaking into industry. I will not promote

Hi, apologies if it’s the wrong sub. I used to be a software engineer fulltime. These days been working on my startup. I’m in early market research phase for validating ideas. Rather than making a product and waiting for people to use it, I wanted to speak to folks and find their problems. Cold outreach has become extremely hard doing from outside the country where customers live in. Is there any way I can freelance and get into the industry?
