Mesoamerican Modern
A stunning survey of contemporary Mexican homes shaped by Mesoamerican ideas, revealing a vibrant design movement rooted in history, landscape, and craft.
This is the first book to explore the pre-Hispanic traditions at the heart of contemporary Mexican interior
design, revealing how architects and designers across the country draw on the wisdom and aesthetics of its ancient cultures. The book presents 16 remarkable homes that exemplify this movement, from Mexico City and the tropical landscapes of the Yucatán, to Oaxaca’s wild Pacific coast and the mountains of Tepoztlán. The projects were photographed specifically for the book by acclaimed Mexican photographer Luis, and each home reinterprets indigenous forms and spatial ideas with striking originality.
