Does arr stack need a separate ssd with a lot of space?

I'm sorry for this really dumb question but how does arr stack work? If I downloaded a movie, will it be stored in my ssd? I only have 100gb left on my separate ssd because that's where I install my games. My other ssd which is where my OS is installed is full as well.
