Verifiable Delivery: what comes after Continuous Delivery when the machine writes the code

For twenty-five years the bottleneck in software was writing the code. That cost is now near zero, and the gauges we used to measure engineering work broke with it: in one controlled trial, developers using AI felt about 20% faster and were measured about 19% slower. What replaces the old discipline is verification. I call it Verifiable Delivery, and it is the work that survives when the machine writes the code.
