Straddle/Strangle option strategy question

Good morning. I’m no options expert, in fact, I’ve lost money quite often. I’ve started studying the subject seriously, but now I have a few questions. In what situations should you NEVER use a straddle or strangle? If I knew in advance that short-term volatility was going to rise, but didn't know which direction the price would move, wouldn't a straddle or strangle be the most logical choice? submitted by /u/gobbibomb [link] [comments]
