Determining the maximum, safe DC offset to apply to a transformer

Hiya, I would like to preface this to say I do not have any real experience working with transformers, so apologies if I'm missing something basic. I have a soft-clipping/saturation circuit that uses an OEP-1200 (1:1), however it has been deemed to be too subtle and I've been tasked with increasing the amount of soft-clipping from the circuit.
