Figma or Canva for a graphic design freelancer? (just starting out)

Hey everyone — I'm building toward freelance graphic design work and trying to figure out which tool to invest my time learning more seriously. I've been using Canva for a while and it's been great for quick turnarounds, but I keep hearing Figma is the "real" industry tool. For those of you doing client work: Is Canva taken seriously by clients, or does it scream "amateur"?
