Is "Community Activity" panel a live feature? How do I turn it off?

Sorry if I missed something, but I can't find an announcement, only two posts (1, 2) about an experiment, which I presume is still going on.

My site settings / preferences / enable experiments is OFF.

I see it when opening any post. Why?
