Comment on Om Malik, 1966-2026 by Andy Abramson

Like many here, I've been processing this emotionally, mentally, and physically. Om was more of just someone I knew who passed away. This was the person who, because he asked me to teach him which wines went with Indian food, led me to meet my wife.

Om was the person who went to city hall with Helene and me to witness our official marriage as the required witness, and who was one of the four groomsmen, holding the Hupa, at my wedding. He did both with the honor he brought to everything in his life. And he was proud to do it.

When I introduced my son, who is 1/4 Indian, to "Uncle" Om, Om made it clear that if he had any questions about his Indian heritage, he was there for him.

So when I wrote on LinkedIn how this one hurts. It really does. And that doesn't even begin to scratch the 24 years of a professional relationship....

Rest in Peace, OM.
